Leaving Mitrovica behind
One more view of the city of Mitrovica.
From far away the city looks like one and united. No dividing river nor blocking sand piles.
Far in the north you can see a tower of Trepca Mines, one of the largest companies of Yugoslavia back in time providing work for 80% of the population of Mitrovica. Now only about 500 employees are doing maintenance work as production is limited to minimal because of division of the city, disagreement about the ownership and a lack of money.
Soon I’m heading to the airport of Pristina and towards the Netherlands to continue my studies in Amsterdam.
